Our Team

Miracle at KSU has always placed a huge emphasis on being a family. As a family, it is important that you know why we do what we do. Our 'why' is our everything. It's what keeps each member of this organization going when the road gets long and our goals seem so far out of reach. Get to know us by getting to know our 'why's!

MEET THE PRESIDENT

George Krivsky | Executive Director

My Why is because I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 16 and was treated by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite. They gave me the best treatment while making me feel truly cared for and like family. I have watched Miracle from the outside at another college and joined once I was at KSU. The kids with diabetes are my biggest motivation to be involved and raise awareness for Miracle at KSU and Children’s.

MEET THE DIRECTORS

My Why is for Michael Henderson. I had the chance to meet Michael at a past Dance Marathon, where we bonded by playing soccer. He was such an energetic, happy kid. His energy just spread to me. Whenever I do anything relating to Miracle, I think of Michael’s smiling face!

My Why is for my future patients! I first joined Miracle to learn more about the patients, families, and staff impacted by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! Hearing the family stories have truly touched my heart and encouraged me to fight for those who can’t. I am devoted to giving back to the hospital that has given so much to so many deserving children!

Macey Lawrence
Campus & Community

My Why is for my nieces. They were born premature and the care that they received at the hospital was amazing. I want to really help pour into future generations and give them the best care possible. I want them to have the best chance and childhood!

My Why is my cousin, Kristine. She was my best friend and continues to inspire me to do good even as the years go by. She passed when we were younger, but I have never let her memory go uncelebrated. I've been able to see the pain and hardship that families can face and the impact that Miracle has had on them. I wanted to be a part of something as amazing as Miracle in hopes of inspiring others to reach out and make a difference. These kids have been through more than any child should, and I want to fight for kids who can't! Kristine is my biggest motivation for creating change and helping these kids have a brighter future.

Diogo Saubel
Finance

My first Why was my little sister Juju. She is an 11-year old Type 1 diabetic. She was diagnosed at the age of 6, and ever since then it has been a learn and adapt experience everyday. Through all of that she has never let her spirit dwindle. At no moment has diabetes been a roadblock in her life, and honestly, that is very inspiring. After I got involved with the organization, I got to learn the stories of other families that have gone through Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and other Miracle Network hospitals. This only added more oxygen to the flame. I have loved all the opportunities we have had to help make a kiddos day just a little better. We often take our childhood for granted, so I am happy to do my part to give the best possible childhood to our local kiddos.

MEET THE INTERNAL DEPARTMENT

KATIE SCHEIDT
DANCE MARATHON

My Why is for my cousin, Samantha, who was diagnosed with cancer when she was 4. Unfortunately, I never got to meet her because she died a few years after her diagnosis, but hearing about her always makes me smile. I dance for her and all of the kids who are no longer here with us.

FAMILY RELATIONS

My Why is all of the patients that are treated and have been treated at Children’s. Working at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has allowed me to realize how strong each patient and their family is. I strive to have the positive attitude they continue to carry themselves with each and everyday. I hope to help in any way possible to make the hospital stays better for each patient!

My Why is for our impact on the kids. I love getting to see the money we raise directly go to them. It is so fun to see the kids dance and hear all of the stories from the families at DM. The stories motivate me to keep pushing for Miracle’s cause and make me realize how important Miracle is to these families. I strive to have a positive attitude and be an inspiration for people to join and help miracle, so that we can help Children’s!

KIRA ANDERSON
MORALE

My Why is for the children because they deserve the best care. I love being able to raise money through fun events like Dance Marathon to help Children Healthcare of Atlanta provide quality care to their patients and their families. My best friend is a cancer survivor and was a patient at Children’s as a small child. I know the impact Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta had on her life, and it makes me happy to know my contribution can have a similar impact on another child’s life.

MEET THE CAMPUS & COMMUNITY DEPARTMENT

Anna justice
cause connection

My Why is for my future patients. I have always been so passionate about children’s health and have always been looking for ways to get involved with making an impact on a kiddos future. Since joining Miracle it has given me clarity as to why I want to pursue my degree in nursing. I am doing this for my future patients and it is truly amazing to see how every little thing counts. It is so rewarding to be able to give back to such an amazing community. Miracle is helping achieve the dreams that I have had since a young girl.

My Why is for the families. Miracle is my little grain of salt to help and support the families and kids who are struggling through different types of illnesses and health complications. I am able and available to help, so I love to put the work forth and getting to know the families, see my work actually going to them, and helping them get some weight off their shoulders.

REAGAN GALLMAN
PUBLIC RELATIONS

My Why is for my future students. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I want my future students and kids of my own to one day have the same opportunity to a happy and healthy life as anyone else!

ANDREA NGUYEN
SOCIAL MEDIA

My Why is to making kids smile and myself smile. In high school, my best friend's little brother got diagnosed with Leukemia and spent months in Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I had the privilege of helping my best friend create a huge notecard with all the sweetest messages from multiple people and presenting it to him. He had the biggest smile on his face afterwards. It made me have the biggest smile. From there, my best friend joined Miracle at another school and told me everyday about her experiences and how much she loved it. Since coming to Kennesaw and realizing there was also a Miracle here, I knew I wanted to join. I wanted to make kids smile and feel the warmth and happiness I did from that day every single day.

MEET THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

KATIE MORGAN

My Why is to raise awareness for children that are struggling, to help them feel supported, and cheer them up. I also wanted to make a difference through a different, more internal perspective.

KADI MAPLES
K-12 RELATIONS

My Why is for the joy I get to see on the kids faces when they get to ride in red wagons, see Children’s therapy dogs, wear a cape on cape day, find donors and matches, hear better news about their health, and best of all, be as comfortable as they can in an uncomfortable situation.

My Why is for NICU families! I was born three months early at Columbus Medical Center. The staff at CMC placed me in the NICU and took amazing care of my family and I. Being a part of Miracle gives me the opportunity to make a difference and help other families who use the NICU's services!
